INJURY COMEBACK
She considered retiring from the sport after suffering an Achilles tendon injury in February 2020, which she thought would rule her out of the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. However, after the Games were postponed to 2021, she decided to continue and returned to competition in September 2020. "I thought that it would be impossible to compete at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, so back in February [2020], I even sent a text message to my national teammate, Mai Murakami, saying, 'I'm sorry, my gymnastics career is over'. But she and the people around me supported me, and I am happy to be back. I realised how much I like the sport. In Tokyo I want to give the performance of my life on the floor."
