She began rhythmic gymnastics in 2008. "It's my passion and one of my biggest loves in life."

Her father encouraged her to take up the sport. "I love the elegance, the expression to the music, the rhythm, everything. Sports builds character. Since I was little, I would spend moments thinking, 'How can I be better than yesterday's training?'"

OTHER ACTIVITIES
She has served as a goodwill ambassador for the A Quint Ondaatje Foundation, which supports underprivileged communities in Sri Lanka. In 2021 she represented Sri Lanka in the Miss Grand International beauty pageant in Bangkok, Thailand, and in 2022 she was crowned Miss Asia Canada. "Pageantry, for me, was such a different endeavour compared to [being] a sportsperson. It really pushed me and kicked my ass to get out of my comfort zone and think beyond my circle of knowledge and experiences. I want to be a model. I want to be on the cover of fashion magazines, walk in fashion weeks, go to Miss Universe, be crowned Miss Universe. These are all in the future."
