Reason for taking up the sport
"I started artistic gymnastics when I was four. My older sisters were training and I wanted to do what they were doing and then discovered it was great fun. I started aerobic gymnastics when I was 13. I started high school and they had this really odd sport called aerobics, which I tried for one term and then never stopped."

She has served as president of the Gymnastics NSW Leadership Engagement and Participation Panel [LEAP], and founded its 'LTC for PNG' initiative that collects and delivers used leotards and training clothing to aspiring gymnasts in Papua New Guinea. In December 2021 she was appointed a member of the athletes commission of Gymnastics Australia, with her term due to end in 2024.
