Start sporting career
He began practising artistic gymnastics at age four in Parra, Mexico. He took up aerobic gymnastics at age 10 in Saltillo, Mexico.
Reason for taking up the sport
He practised artistic gymnastics from a young age but after he and his family moved to Saltillo, Mexico, he was encouraged by coach Martha Rodriguez to try aerobic gymnastics. He also had a short stint in diving, but he returned to aerobic gymnastics. "I like the mix between physical and mental skills, and having a connection with the judges and the people, to make them feel the thrill."

OLYMPIC EXPERIENCE
He performed in the aerobics exhibition gala at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. "I feel very proud and thankful. I hope that one day my sport could be in the Olympic programme. I don't think I will have the chance to compete at the Games, but if the sport was added to the Olympic programme then I would like to be involved even as a judge or as an official, which would be a great way to cap my career." OTHER ROLES
In 2022 he was named aerobic gymnastics representative at the Pan American Gymnastics Union [UPAG]. "We are working to spread aerobic gymnastics to more countries where it is still not practised but where there are teams and clubs that could compete.
