Reason for taking up the sport
"My physical education teacher thought I had the skills and spoke to my parents. They were already looking for an after-school activity for me and saw gymnastics as a good opportunity. My parents did not like it when I entered the higher level competitions. They thought I wouldn't be able to do so many hours and thought I would want to quit because of the intensity. Now they love it. When I come home and I say, 'I'm sick of it', they say, 'Take a shower and it will go away'."
