Reason for taking up the sport
"My physical education teacher thought I had the skills and spoke to my parents. They were already looking for an after-school activity for me and saw gymnastics as a good opportunity. My parents did not like it when I entered the higher level competitions. They thought I wouldn't be able to make so many hours and thought I would want to quit because of the intensity. Now they love it. When I come home and I say, 'I'm sick of it', they say, 'Take a shower and it will go away'." (maisfutebol.iol.pt, 20 Nov 2019; fairplay.pt, 03 Mar 2019)
Trainings
She trains 27 hours a week, which increases to 30 hours per week during competition periods. (maisfutebol.iol.pt, 20 Nov 2019)
Awards
She received a Revelation of the Year award in the acrobatics category at the 2018 Association of Sport Journalists [CNID] awards ceremony in Brazil. (cnid.pt, 23 May 2018)

LIFE LESSONS
She says the sport has taught her lessons she can use in everyday life. "Gymnastics teaches a lot on many levels. It's all about commitment, discipline, hard work, time management and organisation. I've learned that with hard work and persistence, we can accomplish everything we want." (fairplay.pt, 03 Mar 2019)

GOT TALENT
In 2020 she featured on the Portuguese talent show 'Got Talent Portugal'. She participated in the show as part of ArtGym Company, a group of acrobatic performers based at Acro Clube da Maia in Portugal. (primeiramao.pt, 23 Jul 2020)
