He took up trampolining at age 11 at Woolwich Gymnastics Club in Elmira, ON, Canada. He began training seriously at Airborne Trampoline KW in Cambridge about four years later after attending a summer sports camp in Muskoka. "I remember it was just a lot of fun. He has worked as a high diver at an amusement park called Canada's Wonderland in Ontario, where he would take a 20-metre plunge off the theme park's signature mountain to entertain customers.
