Injuries
In 2014 he fractured his right femur and suffered an anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus rupture after a bad landing during training. He required surgery and was out of competition for three months. He suffered a similar injury five months later and required surgery again. (glasul-hd.ro, 06 Jul 2016)

He began gymnastics at age three in Calan, Romania.
Reason for taking up the sport
He began practising gymnastics in his backyard on equipment his father built. At age four he demonstrated his skills in front of Cetate Deva gymnastics club coaches Mariana Bitang and Octavian Bellu who recommended him to CSS Resita, where he eventually enrolled at age seven. "I went to Deva with my father and sister and I did a demonstration showroom. Mr. Bellu and Mrs. Bitang saw me and they were pleasantly impressed by my evolution. Bitang called Resita, being the closest town to Calan, and so would start my true gymnast career."
