Start sporting career
She began training at age four.
Reason for taking up the sport
She was invited to a training session after doing a selection trial at kindergarten. "We immediately looked at a workout to see what it really was. I immediately liked the way the skillful girls showed off their various elements of flexibility, playing with the ball, the ribbon, the clubs, the rope and the hoop. I told my parents that my place was here. I tried ballet before, but it was too slow, boring for me."
Additional information
STAYING THE COURSE
She says she owes her longevity for her persistence. "Thanks to so many hard practises, I have come this far. This sport requires a lot of practice. It takes willpower, perseverance and diligence. In addition, one must be humble in order to reach such a high level. Someone can be very clever, but in vain. If you fall asleep, you won't get anywhere. I had several rivals in my childhood who had always finished ahead of me in competitions, but they also moved away from competition as their motivation and perseverance disappeared." OVERCOMING INJURIES
She has been troubled by numerous injuries during her career. "I [have] had a lot of injuries - eyebrow and concussion, my knee fractured, my rib fractured, my wrist almost fractured. Then who knows what else it might be, but that's it. Something for something. Something is always trying to stop my career, but I fight hard and drive me to my dream." (sportportre.com, 05 Sep 2018)
