Olympic and multiple World All-around champion Kohei Uchimura (JPN, Men's Artistic Gymnastics) and multiple World champion Yana Kudryavtseva (RUS, Rhythmic Gymnastics) were finalists in the Sport Hero and Sportswoman of the Year categories, respectively, at the 2015 SportAccord Awards. A public vote determined the four candidates in each Award category who made the shortlist for the final Awards Ceremony.

In a celebration of sport and athletes, the winners were announced during the Award Ceremony that marked the end of the 2015 SportAccord Convention World Sport and Business Summit in Sochi (RUS) on April 23. Teddy Riner (FRA, Judo) and Alex Zanardi (ITA, Para-cycling) both won the Sport Hero Award and Kaillie Humphries (CAN, Bobsleigh) was awarded the title of Sportswoman of the Year.

Nadia Comaneci (ROU), winner of five Olympic gold medals at the 1976 and 1980 Games and the first female gymnast to be awarded a perfect 10 in an Olympic Gymnastics event, was among three sporting legends honoured with the title of World Ambassadors of Sport.
