GIULIA STEINGRUBER AND MAX WHITLOCK AWARDED LONGINES PRIZES FOR ELEGANCE

As the FIG's long-lasting partner, as well as Official Partner and Timekeeper of the 2015 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Glasgow, Longines had the honor to present the Longines Prize for Elegance to Giulia Steingruber (SUI) and Max Whitlock (GBR), two exceptional gymnasts renowned for their elegance in Gymnastics.

The prize jury was made up of FIG President Bruno Grandi, Longines President Walter von Känel, Commonwealth Games gold medallist Steve Frew, and Katrina Jones, Longines’s Brand Director for the UK. The basis for evaluating, judging and awarding the prize included emotional appeal extending beyond technical considerations to beauty, grace, harmony of movement, and above all, elegance on and off the competition floor.

Whitlock and Steingruber received a watch from the celebrated Swiss horloger, as well as a statuette and a check for 5,000 U.S. dollars.
