Injuries
A positive COVID-19 test while competing at the 2022 World Cup event in Cottbus, Germany, forced him to withdrew from the competition and miss the following event in Doha, Qatar. He sustained a broken medial ligaments injury his ankle during the preliminary round of the men's vaulting competition at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. The injury did not prevented him from competing at the 2021 World Championships in Kitakyushu, Japan, later in the year, although he could only perform one jump and had to withdrew due to pain.
