Additional information
DEALING WITH HEIGHT
At 175cm he considers himself tall for artistic gymnastics, and believes he has had to train more than shorter gymnasts. "I am a little tall for rings and for the individual all-around, because I struggle with rotations and weight, the angle [of performance] for the rings becomes more difficult. That is why some apparatus like the pommel horse and the high bar are easier because the range of motion is wider. I stayed in the sport because of a persistent love for gymnastics. I have struggled a lot and have had to train more than others in order to do certain movements. Tall guys often abandon the sport because of how difficult it is. That's how gymnastics selects its athletes." (folhavitoria.com.br, 30 Jul 2019)
OTHER ROLES
In 2020 he was elected as a member of the Brazilian Olympic Committee [COB] athletes' commission. (bestswimming.swimchannel.net, 12 Nov 2020)
