He took up the sport at age eight at the Lenig & Vlug Beveren-Leie club in Belgium.

"When I was seven years old I started jumping on a trampoline and I never stopped. At the same age I also played football for a year, but the trampoline was clearly more fun and so I continued. Lenig & Vlug in Beveren-Leie is just about the best trampoline club and is well known in the area. The fact that I had family members among the coaches there also helped me get into the sport."

FUTURE PLANS
He intends to remain involved in the sport as a coach after he retires from competition. "I am now 28 years old [speaking in 2022], going to be 29 at the end of the year, so if we look in the longer term, it is heading towards a coaching career for me. I already give training to young gymnasts in the club [Lenig & Vlug Beveren-Leie]. Motivating and pushing my fellow gymnasts is something that suits me." (gymfed.be, 04 Apr 2022)
