Start sporting career
She took up the sport in 2004. She began training in artistic gymnastics before switching to rhythmic gymnastics at age seven.
Reason for taking up the sport
She developed an interest in the sport while watching the rhythmic gymnastics competition at the 2004 Olympic Games. "I was watching the Olympics rhythmic gymnastics on TV and I kept on nagging to my mum, 'I can do this, I can do this'. So she took me to an artistic gymnastics club because we couldn't find rhythmic gymnastics. About a year later the instructors were saying, 'This child's too flexible, we need to strengthen her up'. So then a coach moved in and started practising rhythmic gymnastics. Basically in the end I chose rhythmic gymnastics because I was doing both sports and they were contradicting each other."
