At age 12, Dolla Coetzee, who later became his coach, gave a presentation at his school about trampolining.
Reason for taking up the sport
"There's absolutely no feeling in the world like trampolining. It's got the adrenaline rush of sky diving, just much cheaper. This sport is more than just jumping around on a trampoline. It has been my ticket to empowerment and freedom."
