He was a lively child, so his parents decided to introduce him to the sport as his mother also did artistic gymnastics in her childhood.
Milestones

SUSPENSION
In August 2020 he tested positive for the banned substance meldonium at an out-of-competition test and received a four-year suspension from November 2020 to November 2024. He claimed he unknowingly allowed the substance to enter his system through contaminated food products and appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport [CAS]. TRUSTING COACH
He says that it was his desire to train under the guidance of coach Gennady Sartynsky that made him move from Donetsk to Kyiv in Ukraine, in 2009. "I really wanted to be trained by Gennady Sartynsky. At our first meeting it became clear to me that I wanted to train only with him. So the trust between me and my coach is the basis of our relationship from the first minutes of acquaintance."
