Start sporting career
She began gymnastics at age four in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Reason for taking up the sport
A school teacher encouraged her to take up the sport. Soon after, her mother enrolled her at the Johannesburg Gymnastics Centre. "I would do 'monkeynastix' at school and my teacher at the time spotted me and told my mum that I should consider gymnastics."
