RIO MEDAL BREEDS CONFIDENCE
She says that after winning silver at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro she became more confident in her abilities. "I had always felt like someone who would never achieve her potential, so being able to do that in Rio took a bit of the weight off my shoulders, and allowed me to train with more freedom. RECOVERING FROM INJURIES
Ankle injuries kept her out of action for two years following the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. "I went straight from the high of Rio, when I felt like I could do anything, to then going pretty much straight into injury rehab. That doubt just started to kick in about whether I was going to be able to get back to the standard I wanted to be at. That was the hard bit. Then once I was able to get to a standard, I felt like I was back up and competing and just starting to be able to enjoy that again. That's where the motivation came from - wanting to break that glass ceiling or wanting to break, and push past, what I've been able to achieve before."
