Start sporting career
He began gymnastics before age three at a local club in Bouglon, France. He discovered trampolining in 2009 in Lavergne, France. "Before trampoline I did diving, judo, rugby and [artistic] gymnastics. I tried lots of sports before really focusing on trampoline."
Reason for taking up the sport
He was hyperactive as a child so his parents enrolled him into sport to channel his energy. Gymnastics was the only activity they found that allowed children to start at age two. He then discovered trampolining while training for diving. "I loved the feeling of bouncing, of freedom in the air. I liked it more than diving. The first time I tried it, I fell in love. It was like being on a roller coaster and I wanted to keep on feeling the sensation. As you learn new movements, it's always a new feeling."

Additional information
EARLY DAYS
After coaches noticed his talent for trampoline when he was a boy, the commune in which he lived, Bouglon, installed a trampoline in a municipal room for him to train on. At age 13 he left his parents' home in southern France to join the national prospects hub in Paris. "What pushed me, was the will of becoming the best in my sport, and I asked my parents to go to the best place in France. They had the courage of letting me go that young, and I am thankful for that." (france3-regions.francetvinfo.fr, 08 Apr 2018; blog.france-trampoline.com, 12 Aug 2010)
