Her father Evgeny Shaldybin was a professional ice hockey player from 1993-2011. He played mostly in Russian leagues, including several seasons in the Kontinental Hockey League [KHL]. In the 1990s he also played in the American Hockey League [AHL] and made three appearances in the National Hockey League [NHL] with the Boston Bruins in 1996/97.
