She took up gymnastics at age eight in Rishon LeZion, Israel.
Reason for taking up the sport
Not long after taking up the sport, she was diagnosed with an elbow problem as the result of intense artistic gymnastics training. It was then that the Israeli national rhythmic gymnastics coach persuaded her to switch disciplines. "My mother enrolled me in gymnastics. She competed in gymnastics when she was young and thought it would be nice if I tried it too."
