She was introduced to artistic gymnastics by her mother Esmeralda, who continues to work as her coach. "For me it is a special relationship because, since I was a little girl, I've been combining school and gymnastics and I'm with her all day long. Sometimes we have our mishaps but the truth is we always move forwards together. I accompanied my mother to her work because she had no one to leave me with. Seeing the girls caught my attention , so I started doing gymnastics recreationally with my mom. At the age of six or seven, in my first regional, I realised that this is what I wanted to do.
