Additional information
FROM EGYPT TO TURKIYE
He began competing for Turkiye in 2020, having moved there in 2018. He previously represented Egypt, the country of his birth, and was unable to compete internationally for two years before becoming eligible to represent Turkiye. "Those two years really were so tough for me, because my coach was pushing me really hard to get better every day, even if I didn't have competition. It was really hard. But now I can say that the biggest support for me was my family. I was 18 years old and they told me, 'Okay, if you see your future there [Turkiye], you can go'. I left everything. But I always pushed myself to work harder, because I knew that I wanted to do something new."
