KNEE PROBLEMS
He has been troubled by knee problems throughout his career. "I have a big problem with my knees. They are not in line, in fact I was born with them out of alignment and they sometimes dislocate. I have always known that my legs were not so good. In 1995 I had an operation on each knee, and after tearing the muscles of my left leg twice - in 1997 and again in 2006 - I changed my gymnastics so it involved less jumping and running." TV APPEARANCE
He has appeared on the MTV programme, 'Gymnasts - Parallel Lives', which gave a closer look into the life of a gymnast. His main motivation for appearing on the television programme was to promote the sport among young people. "To encourage children to play sports like me. This is a sport that wears you physically, in the true sense of the word. But my four Olympic appearances, I keep them tight as an amazing experience.
