HELP FROM HURDLES
Following the 2021 World Championships in Kitakyushu, Japan, she decided to focus on improving her running in the vault event. She enlisted French sprinter and hurdles specialist, Ladji Doucoure, who encouraged her to start using marks along the runway in the same way as long jumpers. "I was ready for the world championships but I didn't do what I wanted to. There was something wrong. So I went to look for him [Doucoure] and he just made me run which is pretty tough in itself. I run looking down for the first two metres, then I look up, I spring onto the vault, the handspring, the twist and a half and, if everything goes fine, I nail the landing. Unbelievable!"
