Ambitions

Philosophy / Motto
"What I think is really great about gymnastics is that there is no limit. If you think that everything is possible, you can learn a new twist, salto or landing. That makes everything new and exciting. There are always new goals that you can reach." (pushsports.eu, 26 Apr 2019)
Additional information
EARLY DAYS
She was always one of the taller female gymnasts growing up, which she says was perceived negatively early in her career. "I'm a bit tall for a gymnast, and at the beginning of my career, there was the idea that a top gymnast had to be small and thin. Fortunately, that image has changed. With my 1.65 metres I always stood out above others, luckily not anymore. Gymnastics is now a very grown-up sport and not just for little, young girls anymore. We are now proving that again with the Dutch team." (destentor.nl, 16 Apr 2021)
OTHER STUDIES
After graduating from the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands in 2017 with a degree in biomedical sciences, she began studying for a degree in philosophy at the same university. (LinkedIn profile, 01 Oct 2020)
