She began the sport in 2000 at age six in Minsk, Belarus.
Reason for taking up the sport
"As a child, I watched rhythmic gymnastics competitions where the girls sat on the splits and did other beautiful elements. I began to try to copy them at home. My parents saw I was standing on my head all the time and decided to put me in sports, and the school for sports acrobatics was near the house."
