Additional information
INFLUENTIAL COMPETITON
A key point in the development of his career was competing at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina. "It was very important. I used to say that the Youth Olympic Games were even more difficult than going to [the 2020 Olympic Games in] Tokyo, because only one athlete per country is allowed to compete and you had to be in good form during the qualifying tournament, while there were five berths for Tokyo so I had more chances to make the team. It was also very important to know how gymnastics is performed by athletes from other countries. I had already taken part in international competitions but the Youth Olympic Games were at a higher level. It was like Tokyo, but in the youth category. Those Games changed my mind a lot, they flicked a switch. It gave me more will to train even more in the quest for better results." (olympics.com, 05 Aug 2022)
