Injuries

He took up the sport at age three at Tomioka Gymnastics Club in Osaka, Japan.
Reason for taking up the sport
His mother enrolled him in a gymnastics club because he was interested in the Japanese superhero television series, 'Kamen Rider Hibiki'.
Milestones
He became the first artistic gymnast from any nation to win five gold medals at a single edition of the Youth Olympic Games, when he claimed gold in the individual all-round, floor, rings, parallel bars, and horizontal bars at the 2018 Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
