Her father Yoshiaki Hatakeda competed in artistic gymnastics at the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games. He was part of the Japanese team that won a bronze medal at the 1992 Games. Her mother Yukiko represented Japan in artistic gymnastics at the World University Games. Her older sister Hitomi has also competed in artistic gymnastics at international level, including at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
