Reason for taking up the sport
He was inspired by the French films 'Yamakasi' and 'Banlieue 13', which depict parkour. "Then I watched some videos on the internet and decided to try it with my friends. It was just for fun at the beginning, but it quickly became a passion. I love using my body in an environment that it was not previously considered for." (lalsace.fr, 31 May 2019)
Trainings
He trains up to five days per week. (vivrefm.com, 05 Oct 2021)
Philosophy / Motto
"It's man against the things he builds. There is a real feeling of freedom by overcoming these obstacles. I also love that there are really no rules. We build this sport with our creativity and determination." (lalsace.fr, 31 May 2019)
Additional information
General
OVERCOMING FEAR
He uses training in gymnastics halls and repetition to help him overcome the fear of danger. "Fear guides us all in parkour. I break down the movements, watch videos and try to understand. Some things are learnt easily outside, such as the basics. [But] I have also trained in gymnastics halls. With that I can better understand my body. If I feel fear of trying a jump I don't do it. There's no point in getting hurt, because then you can't train. I will try things first on the ground, I never try something new while on the roofs. Only when you have confidence in yourself and in your abilities, you can go and explore on higher ground." (lalsace.fr, 31 May 2019; lequipe.fr, 13 Sep 2019)
