He took up the sport at age nine in Vimercate, Italy.
Reason for taking up the sport
He was involved in swimming for three years before he discovered gymnastics. "I saw a lot of girls at my school who were doing gymnastics. It was something different, unusual and special. I tried it and I liked it."
Milestones
He and competition partner Michela Castoldi achieved Italy's first gold medal in aerobics at the world championships when they won the mixed pairs event at the 2016 edition of the tournament in Incheon, Republic of Korea. Awards
