Start sporting career
He began when he was at school. "Since [age] 11 I have been training parkour and freerunning." (reddit.com, 01 Dec 2018)
Reason for taking up the sport
"I always played outside with friends. Just like every child does. But at a certain point we started doing more extreme things, such as jumping off things. Through videos on the internet we discovered that it was a real sport. That is how we never stopped and it became my job. We all watch Marvel movies, right? Watching the superheroes, it [parkour] feels a bit like that. It gives such a kick that with our bodies, without aids, we fly at top speed over all those obstacles." (lauratheel.com, 01 May 2017; omroepwest.nl, 15 Sep 2019)
Ambitions
He wants to travel to the United States of America to take part in parkour there. "It is my dream to go to America. It is a country that has a really super urban environment [for parkour]." (Den Haag TV YouTube channel, 24 Apr 2019)
Trainings
He structures his own physical training. "I find it very important to make my own strength training with the techniques I would like to show [in competition]. So instead of climbing [something] once, I do it 20 times in a row and then I do one push-up between each climb. That way I prepare my body." (lauratheel.com, 01 May 2017)
Rituals
He likes to take time to visualise his run before competing. "I always try to imagine how I will do my runs, what you call visualising. Then I sit down, put on some music and just watch the course. In my head I try to go through the entire run so that I can deal with the situation at the moment. I look at what I can do per trick and make sure that I can do it in as many different situations as possible, so that those tricks are completely in my system and I don't have to worry about whether I can do it or not." (lauratheel.com, 01 May 2017)

COACHING BUSINESS
He started a coaching business, Freerun Basics, in the Netherlands and enjoys working as coach with children. "[I try to give them] a bit of education, after all, you are an example to them and so I try to behave as an example. I try to be the way I want them to be as children. Respect for each other, respect in the competition. And I also try to tell them that it is not just about money or prestige, but that they enjoy the sport." (freerunbasics.nl, 01 Jan 2019; lauratheel.com, 01 May 2017)

OTHER ACTIVITIES
He has worked as a stuntperson on television and film including the 2017 war film 'Dunkirk'. (imdb.com, 01 Jan 2017)
