Reason for taking up the sport
"My mother had to stop doing rhythmic gymnastics because of knee problems. She passed on her enthusiasm for the sport to me early on and so I followed her path. When I started rhythmic gymnastics, I didn't understand what I was doing at first. As time went on I liked it better and better. When I came to Germany [at age 12], I realised that I could do it professionally."
Milestones

Born in Barnaul, Russian Federation, she moved to Fellbach, Germany, at age 12. "My family wasn't there at first, so I didn't feel so at home. That has changed. I was able to learn German quickly at the language school and boarding school, which helped a lot with settling in." (tz.de, 06 Jun 2023)
