She began gymnastics in 2009.

At age two she wanted to join her siblings in tee-ball, a children's version of baseball, but she was not allowed. "Dad said I was too small for tee-ball. So since I climbed all over everything like a monkey, my mum started me in gym."

HOUSTON MOVE
In 2022 she moved from Texarkana, TX, United States of America, to Houston, TX, United States of America, after her mother got a new job in Houston. "I was so scared. At that point [before the move], I didn't really want to go because it was kind of like my mum's decision. She was moving for her job, so she was like, 'Okay, you're gonna come with me'." Having previously trained at North East Texas Elite Gymnastics in Texarkana, she then joined Houston's World Champions Centre, owned by the family of US artistic gymnast Simone Biles and home to coaches Laurent Landi and Cecile Landi. "Just knowing [USA Gymnastics] Hall of Fame coaches believe in me, I think that a huge confidence booster. I feel like confidence is the biggest thing they've instilled in me. COLLEGE COMMITMENT
