The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) publishes the List of Prohibited Substances and Methods, which comes into effect on 1 January of each year.
Under the FIG Anti-Doping Rules, it is each athlete's or other person's responsibility to know what constitutes an anti-doping rule violation and which substances and methods are included on the Prohibited List.
Athletes and other persons are therefore strongly encouraged to review the Prohibited List carefully, particularly before using any medication or supplement.
The 2027 List of Prohibited Substances and Methods was approved by WADA's Executive Committee on 10 September 2026 and will enter into force on 1 January 2027.
